Why Go To An Acne Clinic

The most logical choice for an acne sufferer is to seek a medical doctor, usually a dermatologist, to help them get rid of their acne. Unfortunately after a number of visits and attempts at prescription products, the acne patient is left frustrated, dejected and desperate to find the answers to this seemingly baffling skin condition.

Most of our clients finally find us after they have seen one (or many) doctors in search of a solution. After coming to the Acne Clinic for a few short months, their skin gets clear and stays clear. What does an acne clinic with no doctors on staff do differently from the medical profession?

  • 1. Doctors have very little time to spend with their patients. They are under a lot of pressure to see as many patients as they can as their overhead (especially malpractice insurance) is very high. It takes time and constant follow-up to get someone’s skin clear. We communicate with our clients on a regular basis to keep them on track.
  • 2. Most doctors seem to have the same protocol for all of their acne patients. They usually start them with antibiotics and a prescription retinoid. When that stops working (if it ever did) they will try other retinoids (and/or maybe a different antibiotic). And when that fails, they usually turn to isotretinoin (Accutane).
  • 3. Dermatologists treat all aspects of skin, not just acne. Acne is our focus at Face Reality Acne Clinic. We have studied with the world’s foremost acne researchers to learn the complex causes and treatments of acne. We have a passion for learning about acne and all aspects of treating it.
